Nobody plans for an emergency. But when something goes wrong — a medical crisis, a fire, a road accident — knowing what to do can change everything. Save these numbers in your phone today.

The big three — call these first

  • 101 — Magen David Adom (Ambulance): for medical emergencies, injuries, or an unconscious person.
  • 100 — Police (Mishtara): for crime, threats, accidents, or suspicious situations.
  • 102 — Fire Department: for fires, gas leaks, or trapped persons.

Other important numbers

  • 1201 — Electric Emergency (IEC): for downed power lines or electrical hazards.
  • 103 — Gas Emergency: if you smell gas or suspect a leak.
  • 105 — National Water Authority: for burst pipes or flooding.

Specifically for foreign workers

  • 1-800-354-751 — Foreign Worker Hotline: help with rights violations and workplace issues. No Hebrew needed.
  • 1202 — ERAN, Emotional First Aid: support for anxiety, distress, or feeling overwhelmed.
  • 1-800-500-600 — Yad L'Oleh: general guidance, paperwork help, and referrals.

If you call — what to say

Operators may not speak your language. Stay calm and use these words:

  • “Ezra!” — Help!
  • “Ambulans” — Ambulance
  • “Mishtara” — Police

Give your address clearly — street name and city. This is the most important information.

If you cannot speak, dial 100 and stay on the line. Police may send help even if you say nothing.
